Thin films geo-phase optics enable low SWaP large-aperture optical systems and provide non-mechanical functionality. In this recent paper from BEAMCO and Air Force Research Laboratory, researchers characterize an 8" aperture geo-phase lens and demonstrate highly efficient and spectrally broadband nonmechanical line-of-sight steering. They use a SID4-HR wavefront sensor to verify that the wavefront quality is not impacted.
